Using CDC data, this historigraph shows how COVID made landfall in America in New York then spread outward from there, then watch as it hits several other cities and spreads similarly. The historigraph format allows you to clearly see the outward radiation of the outbreaks in a way that the arbitrary alphabetical ordering does not, and it makes the contrast between the initial more intense and localized outbreaks and the generalized Omicron variant much clearer.
